Huawei Ascend P2 announced

So, you are in the market for a new Android-powered smartphone, but with so many makes and models to choose from, just which model would you want to settle for? Well, here is another that will not make your choice easier, but rather, add to your selection headache as Huawei has just announced the Huawei Ascend P2 officially at Mobile World Congress which is currently happening in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei is so bold as to claim the Huawei Ascend P2 to be the “world’s fastest smartphone”, with the basis of that claim being a quad-core 1.5GHz processor.
Now, I am quite sure that many other smartphone manufacturers too, have something to say about that particular claim, but I will leave the bickering to the industry. Let us check out what else the Huawei Ascend P2 carries underneath the hood.
For starters, the Huawei Ascend P2 is said to feature a 8.4mm slim chassis that has an infinity edge 4.7-inch IPS HD in-cell touch display alongside second-generation Corning Gorilla Glass, coming in either black or white shades. There is no word on when it will arrive Stateside, but we do know that the Huawei Ascend P2 will hit France first via mobile carrier Orange this coming June, with other (yet unnamed) countries to also be on the receiving end before the second quarter of the year is over. It is said to be priced at around 399 Euros unlocked, so expect it to be a whole lot more affordable when it comes on contract with a carrier. This particular model will not carry a Full HD display, so we cannot place this on the same platform as that of other high-end models.
As for the user interface, on top of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, we will also see Huawei’s very own Emotion UI 1.5. A 2,420 mAh battery will keep the momentum going throughout the day, and connectivity options will include Wi-Fi and NFC, turning the Huawei Ascend P2 into some sort of mobile wallet as and when the situation calls for it.
